Flowering Tree - Ceramic Quilt

Ceramic acrylic paint, ceramic tile and Sharpie marker on wood panel, 4' x 5', Toni Morrison Elementary, Lorain, Ohio, 2009. During this project, I worked with 75 3rd grade students to design and paint the tiles in 2 days. It took another 2 days to finish the tiles in the studio. Each 3rd grader designed a 6"x6" tile and as if it were a piece of a puzzle. It is a great group project.
